After she makes this, DBN Gogo’s star keeps shining.

Spotify today announced the addition of six African musicians to RADAR, the music streaming giant’s program committed to the spotlighting and discovery of rising artists throughout the world, with DBN Gogo from Mzansi making the list.

Ayra Starr, Black Sherif, Victony, BNXN, and Buruklyn Boyz are among the artists from Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa. Other African musicians including Elaine, Willy Cardiac, Tems, and Focalistic, who entered the project in 2020 and were exposed to new worldwide fan networks as a result, are following in their footsteps.

Gogo announced the good news on her social media accounts.

De-Ben Gogo (@dbngogo) shared a post.

It brings me great joy to bring back our RADAR Africa initiative, and to do so in a much larger and better format than before. It’s critical that we keep looking for methods to give emerging artists a fair shot at success both on and off the platform.

We have six outstanding ones from the region to begin with, and we look forward to sharing their journey while we provide the resources to elevate them to the next level of their respective careers, and hopefully make thousands more Spotify fans around the world,” Phiona Okumu, Spotify Africa’s head of music, said.

Since its inception, RADAR has increased listening and strengthened fan-artist relationships. The artists will receive editorial, on-platform, and off-platform support from Spotify as part of the program, which will help them expand their fan numbers.

Spotify will promote RADAR playlists, RADAR podcasts, Spotify Singles, and priority releases from RADAR artists across all regions as part of its Global Hub launch. Coachella will be taken up by DBN Gogo. Coachella’s Heineken House beer garden will feature amapiano as a headliner, according to DBN Gogo.
