After 23 years on our screens 7de Laan is officially coming to an end tomorrow

After captivating audiences for 23 years, the beloved South African soapie 7de Laan is bidding farewell. The long-running series, which has been on SABC 2 since its debut on April 4, 2000, will not be returning for another season. The current season, Season 24, will conclude in December 2023, marking the end of an era.

Created by Danie Odendaal, 7de Laan follows the lives of residents in the close-knit community of 7de Laan, situated in the suburb of Hillside. Initially presented exclusively in Afrikaans, the show has evolved over time to reflect a changing society. It has introduced diverse characters, storylines, and languages from various races and cultures, showcasing the vibrant diversity of our nation.


 

 

As fans prepare to bid farewell to the beloved soapie, they can look back on the impact 7de Laan has had in capturing the essence of South African life and culture over the years.
