The Afro-Soul star who is famous for her tracks Loliwe and Phendula, had an interview with Isolezwe Newspaper on Saturday after people asked her for spiritual help and prayers on social media. This came after the spread of her drunken-looking video on social media platforms. In this short video that has spread on Twitter, Zahara sings the song Ndize but captures this strangeness and some kind of drunkards. Explaining the video, she said it was misquoted to portray the wrong situation. Zahara believes that the people who are behind this video are those people who are happy about her downfall.

 

 

 

 
She said she was singing a song in honor of her sister who passed away earlier this year. What she didn’t know is that the song would make her to be emotional and felt aggrieved. She continued to say people always like to criticize alcohol when it comes to her, as a result, that it doesn’t bother her anymore. Nomonde who’s Zahara’s sister died in March, after a car accident. She was a member of the faith music group Mkutukana sisters. The group released an album in 2016 and is featured in Zahara’s song God Is In The Valley.

The Afro-soul music star is not new to the subject of drunkenness. She was seen drunk by some young men during a visit to her hometown in August. On that day when the video was recorded while singing Loliwe. Zahara admitted that at some stage she was violent when she was at home because she was aggrieved and felt broken. When she was asked about the time when she appeared to be holding a cap begging for donations from the people, Zahara simply did not want to answer. And her manager Eric Gyimah failed to give up when she tried to ask him to answer as she was confused.

People have suspected that Zahara is still missing after being arrested for failing to appear in court on a tax evasion charge. The Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court was forced to issue a warrant for her arrest after repeated failures, to defend herself against SARS tax evasion. It helped that she turned herself into the police sometime later.

It’s heartbreaking that talented people like Zahara find themselves becoming drunkards for no reason. Drugs and alcohol are the cause of the downfall of many artists in the music industry. Record label owners and artist managers need to think about this curse. Otherwise, their talent will vanish in the midst.
