FOUR new good-looking actors are set to join SABC 1’s Skeem Saam, and the ladies are excited.
Former Generations actor Nyaniso Dzedze is one of the four actors who will debut on the show next month alongside Pholoso Mohlala, Themba Manganyi and Brendan Maphake.
Nyaniso (37), known for his roles in productions such as Durban Gen, Unmarried and The Estate, spoke to Daily Sun about joining the show as Lehasa’s (played by Cedric Fourie) friend.
The actor from Joburg has promised that the viewers might get to see a different Lehasa, one that’s different from the ruthless businessman he already is.“I will play Nkosi, a headstrong man who is his own boss, and he’s a supportive and loyal friend, and that’s how he fits into Lehasa’s life. If anything, Nkosi is probably Lehasa’s moral compass because he comes from a background of having been a cop.
“He turned and started his own business, and he likes to do things the right way and keep to the law. So, in the presence of Nkosi, Lehasa is less ruthless and less likely to break the law. He kind of invites Lehasa to have more integrity and less ruthlessness,” he said.
The actor said he’s excited for people to meet his character. “Nkosi makes his debut on 12 February. He will bring some action into a world where his presence effectively makes people change for the better. I’m excited physically, emotionally and very happy because he challenges Lehasa in a way that other people in his life haven’t,” he said.
Nyaniso is also part of Netflix’s new series, Soon Comes Night, starring Kwenzo Ngcobo, Didintle Khunou, Sisanda Henna, Connie Chiume and Kenneth Nkosi.
“Soon Comes Night is on Netflix right now. I play Khumalo, and people should watch that. There’s another project coming on Netflix that I cannot mention right now. But it’s coming soon,” Nyaniso said.
