Thursday 10 November marked the end of Nomvelo Makhanya, who played the character of Lindiwe Ngema on the popular Etv soapie Scandal. Her exit saw her die in hospital after complications from her pregnancy.
Makhanya had announced Months ago that she will be leaving the soapie after almost 10 years playing the role.
Instead of fans of the soapie celebrating her time on the soapie, she has had to deal with widespread reports that claimed that she left the soapie because her real life boyfriend, wasn’t too pleased with her character.
It was allegedly said that her boyfriend was uncomfortable with the love relationship she had developed with her on screen husband, Matthews Rantsoma who plays Nhlamulo on the show.
Although Makhanya has denied those rumours, on Friday she had to clear up those rumours after her on screen death on Thursday on the show, a twitter user once again raised those rumours.
An angry Makhanya responded to the tweet, denying those rumours and said that “the reason she left the show was because she wanted growth” as she has been on the show for 10 years. See the tweets below.
The 26 year old Makhanya leaves Scandal as the show was still recovering after a number of it’s prominent actors and actresses have said their goodbyes on the show.
She leaves the show having become a lead actor on the show, after arriving on the show as a young teenager.
