A list of people Zoleka Mandela allegedly didn’t want at her funeral

Zoleka Mandela (the granddaughter of the late and former president Nelson Mandela and his second wife, anti-apartheid activist Winnie Mandela) died on Monday, 25 September and her funeral is held at Bryanston Methodist Church in Johannesburg today.

Zoleka Mandela has previously opened up about preparing for her death as she’s been battling with cancer for the past 11 years. In her diary, she allegedly listed a number of people that she didn’t want to attend her funeral.

 

 

 

 

 
According to Zimoja, Zoleka had allegedly shared that she didn’t want Thiery Bashala (the father of her two children), Leeroy Andie Cana (the father of her last born Zingce), Zenani Mandela Snr, Mandla Mandela, Zukiswa Madikizela, Nsundu Madikizela, as well as Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo at her funeral.

The 43-year-old author and activist died surrounded by her loved ones on Monday after she was admitted to the hospital on 18 September for her ongoing treatment for metastatic cancer to the hip, liver, lung, pelvis, brain, and spinal cord.

Zoleka Mandela was also a mother of six. She frequently gushed over her kids in her social media posts. Sadly, she also suffered the loss of two of her children while she battled with cancer. In 2010, she lost her daughter, Zenani. She also mourned the loss of her newborn son, Zenawe who was born prematurely in 2012.

In her last Instagram post, she revealed that she had been having severe chest pains. And, after having gone for a CT Scan, doctors discovered that she also had blood clots and Fibrosis in her lungs.
