The funeral was cancelled at at UMlazi CC section Mlazi, relatives and friends who attended the funeral over the weekend were turned away because of a dispute between the deceased’s daughter and his ‘girlfriend’. All day members of the Msomi family and members of the public attended the funeral of Mr Gibson Daka Msomi (69) (the youngest who was buried), following a dispute over the body between the deceased’s daughter, Mrs Nomcebo Msomi and the deceased’s ‘girlfriend’, Mrs Nobuhle Nikiwe Cele.

According to the source ILANGA, Mr Msomi died on the 12th of May, he should have been buried the Previous day, but his funeral was forced to be postponed following Ms Cele (‘the girl’) filing court papers to stop the funeral.

The matter was taken to court, Mrs Msomi got the documents authorizing her to bury her husband on Sunday, which was not possible. The Msomi family came to the mortuary to collect the body, when it was taken, they handed it over to the police where Ms Cele’s family was also there. we have bones when the two sides insult each other, those who support the Msomi family and those who were traveling with Ms. Cele. Speaking to ILANGA, Ms Msomi said her father lived with her when he was ill. “While we were preparing for the funeral last Tuesday, the bailiff came and brought the documents to stop the funeral. These documents were submitted by claiming to be my father’s wife, which is confusing because my father was unmarried and had many girlfriends.

“We went to court on Wednesday, it was in our favor, they were ordered to release his body to the cold as they took it to their house. We prepared the funeral as the letter said that the body must be removed on the 28th and hidden. “It’s strange for us when we arrive in the cold and the body was with them, and we were forced to stop the funeral,” she said.
