Economic Freedom Fighters leader, Julius Malema has revealed that his R1.2 million platinum table for EFF’s gala dinner to celebrate their 10th anniversary has been sold out.
After the announcement this week that the tables were going as high as R1.2 million, people scrambled to book and Malema said he ended up even selling out his own seat to accommodate those who were booking.
This came to many as a shock that in this economy there are people who have such kind of money, and are willing to spend it in one day just to rub shoulders with Julius Malema. Several individuals have so far confirmed that they will be in attendance.
Former president Jacob Zuma’s daughter, Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla said she will be there. She said this event is not to be missed. Julius Malema, the red beret leader, shared some of the messages of people who were booking the platinum table.
“Platinum is gone. The EFF asked me to sell my table, and I did precisely that,” said Julius Malema. EFF members said opponents are already having chest pains following these revelations.
Some critics said they would like to see how this money is being put to good use. They said the Economic Freedom Fighters must be transparent when it comes to these funds.
“I hope we see a report of where these funds went for the celebrations, for the sake of transparency. I’m against this practice.”
“R12 million in a blink of an eye! Now that is way to go to celebrate a big milestone of celebrating a decade of the new kid on the block EFF.
It seems EFF stands to rake in about R30 million just on this gala dinner alone. Very interesting,” some said.
“Julius is a very smart, he uses his friends to come buy the table where he will be sitting. Why would you buy such an expensive table where there is nothing in return? He is posting the whole process to trick his worshippers,” said ANC comrade Nathi Sithole.
