A police officer has both administrative and operational responsibilities. A police officer makes written reports, conducts interviews with witnesses and suspects, obtains warrants, and responds to questions from members of their community at the police station. Outside of the police station, a police officer is responsible for a variety of duties.


 

 

The duties a police officer performs on a daily basis are very varied. They might spend one shift writing tickets for moving infractions like speeding or disregarding traffic signs and another responding to a car accident. A police officer may also be in charge of attending a crime scene, acquiring evidence, and conducting several interviews.
