Rihanna, a Barbadian musician now based in the USA, expressed her admiration for Ghana’s national football team, the Black Stars, during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

 

Her support was inspired by her affection for Kevin-Prince Boateng, who played for AC Milan at the time. Rihanna shared an endearing photo of Boateng on her Instagram profile on June 16, 2014,

while the Black Stars were playing against the US men’s soccer team, garnering significant attention with her caption “Da Bae doe!” Despite her support, the Black Stars were defeated by the US squad 2-1 in their first match.
