Raphael Griffiths is a South African actor best known for his role on SABC 2’s soap opera Muvhango as Vusi Mukwevho, the son of Thandaza Mokoena. He also portrayed Zithulele on Imbewu. He is a poet, presenter, and rapper in addition to being an actor. He is one of the actors who has spoken out about the depression they experienced as a result of online bullying from fans who believe they are not good enough.
Raphael grew up in Johannesburg’s central business district. His mother is Zulu and his father is Zambian, which is why he claims to be half-Zambian. Because of the way South Africans treat foreigners, he found it difficult to reveal that he is half Zambian. Raphael has always felt unsafe during xenophobic attacks, despite the fact that he was born in South Africa.
Raphael claims to have traveled around the world, where people treat foreigners differently than they do in South Africa, where they are sometimes referred to as Makwerekwere. Raphael’s ancestors come from various cultures. His great grandmother was Portuguese on his father’s side. His grandmother then married a Zambian man, which is how his father was born. As a result, he is an African child in general.
