Mzansi-based, Eswatini-born DJ Lungelihle Zwane, popularly known by her stage name Uncle Waffles has been living her best life in and out of the country and was recently spotted in New York City on 13 February, looking completely different and almost unrecognizable; the entertainer shared pictures of her new look on Instagram and had her followers flabbergasted and begging her to go back to her usual look.
Uncle Waffles shared pictures of herself from a night out with friends in The Big Apple, and fans were concerned that the industry was getting to the upcoming DJ.
In the pictures, Uncle Waffles’ make-up seemed to be on the dark side. She overlined her lips with dark lip liner and had on a pitch-black mullet wig.
She paired the look with huge gold Louis Vuitton earrings and matched them with her striking gold ghetto fabulous grills.
Her overall outfit resembled a homeless man’s attire which one of her fans said she was “in her phara [hobo] era.”
Other followers feared she was starting to go off on Doja Cat’s fashion path.
Taking to her timelines, Uncle Waffles captioned,
“Ain’t no regular.”
After seeing Uncle Waffles’ outfit and hairdo, the DJ’s loyal fans pleaded with her not to change herself and reassured her that they loved her just the way she was.
Last year, Uncle Waffles made headlines for having expensive fashion taste.
According to Briefly, entertainment blogger, Musa Khawula, disclosed that Uncle Waffles’ outfit cost a total of R59 9000. That included only her Balenciaga purse which retailed for R38 300, and her R21 600 Louis Vuitton sneakers.
