Keke Moloi, his older daughter, was born in 1982, while Motaung was still a teacher, according to reports. In 2007, she became well-known for suing her father for child support.

The assets of Motaung and his wife total R15 million. In 2007, after being accused of stealing R32 million from the SABC, the Scorpions attacked them.

However, after they were found not guilty, the case was dismissed by the Johannesburg Commercial Crimes Court. The property that was returned was valued at R8 million. Five of Thuso Motaung’s automobiles and furniture are also included.
