The artist was shot and killed in Durban’s Florida Road last week Friday.

During a media briefing on Thursday, the family had announced that following the official memorial service on Friday at the Sandton Convention Centre, AKA would be laid to rest in a private family service.

His mom Lynne Forbes urged his fans to go through the emotions of his death.

“My beloved children of The Megacy, Kiernan’s body has been taken from us, just his body, in the most brutal way, and I do understand that just like me and our family, you must be feeling the same amount of anger and incredible pain and absolute disbelief. All of these emotions are normal.”

Meanwhile KZN police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, says a number of people have been taken in for questioning following the shooting incident which also claimed the life of AKA’s friend, Tebello Motsoane.

Speaking to reporters at Parliament on Friday, Mkhwanazi also said a number of cell phones had been collected while police are still viewing more footage from the fatal night.

“There are many people that we have obtained statements, and we have collected cell phones, the viewing of the videos is still continuing, the analysis of the material that is there is continuing. So we are still putting our evidence together in order for us to be able to have a solid case going forward,” said Mkhwanazi.

“The identification of those that were seen on videos that you might have seen on social media is something that we cannot disclose now, but we have got an idea as to who might those people be, so we are continuing with the investigation.”
