Look who asks Ramaphosa for permission to honour slain rapper AKA with state funeral.

The office of Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi wants to honor rapper AKA with a state funeral. They are asking President Cyril Ramaphosa for permission to do this.

If Ramaphosa agrees, the South African flag will be wrapped around the rapper’s coffin, and a representative from the provincial government will go to the funeral on behalf of the provincial government.

Vuyo Mhaga, who works for the premier, told News24, “We give a state funeral to anyone we think has made a big difference in society.” Money is not the issue. We are recognizing what the person has done for the country. The family can keep the flag as a reminder that the government of South Africa appreciates what they did.

Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, a rapper and longtime friend, was shot and killed outside a restaurant on Florida Road in Durban on Friday night.

AKA’s family said that the star would be buried on Saturday in a private ceremony in a small town. On Friday, there will be a public memorial service.

Mhaga said that the president had not yet answered the premier’s office’s request.

“Even on Thursday night, the answer can be sent by the president.” No money comes from the government. So the family doesn’t have to wait for the president to say anything before they can start planning the funeral. Things will move forward. “It’s just a matter of getting the flag and the officials to come,” he said.

I want to know where the leader of the country got his ideas. SA has lost a lot of people like him, so what makes him different? If Lesufi likes him as an artist, why can’t he handle it himself instead of making SA take care of it when the man is rich enough to pay for everything?
