Actress Nolwazi Shange Ngubeni leaves long-running popular etv soapie Scandal after several months of portraying the character Mbali Kubeka.

Over the last few months, fans of the award-winning soapie have witnessed Mbali Kubeka’s fall from grace. At the time of writing, she is wanted by the police for setting up her sister Winnie and attempting to murder her ex-husband Jojo when he attempted to hand her over to law enforcement.

While fans of Nolwazi Ngubeni would want her to continue her convincing portrayal of Mbali Kubeka on Scandal!, the actress has announced that her time on the soapie is up. Her last onscreen appearance will be on Wednesday 15 February.

Nolwazi Ngubeni said as she prepares to embark on the next phase of her career, she will leave Scandal! with fond memories. She went on to thank fans of the soapie for their support.

“Being on Scandal! has been one of the greatest joys of my career. I truly appreciate the immense support the producers, cast and crew have shown me. I walk away with fond memories as I prepare to take on the next phase of my journey. Thank you to all the viewers for watching and consistently supporting my work. Onwards and upwards,” she said.

Ngubeni, who is also a casting director and producer, will continue her journey as casting director in the new season of Mzansi Magic’s telenovela Umkhokha while also acting in another production whose name is yet to be disclosed.

In her last episode, Nolwazi Ngubeni’s character Mbali Kubeka will attempt to kill her mother. Unfortunately during her attempt to murder her own mother, Mbali is killed by her mother in self-defence.
