South Africa is currently a country that is distraught and fatigued as we deeply mourn for one of our creatives who was brutally assassinated. Kiernan Jarryd Forbes whom the world at large better knew as AKA left us untimely and accepting that he is gone forever is very agonising. He was a very talented artist who pioneered the Hip Hop music genre and helped amateurs find their way to becoming superstars. Kiernan Jarryd Forbes believed so much in the youth of South Africa and invested so much of his time, effort, money and all he could to put a hand on their success. He was part of the “fees must fall” protest which was founded by the students of the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg.
Kiernan was always available to help and support the youth of South Africa where they needed him to do so. They dearly loved him and supported his music career at all cost because he always went an extra mile when they needed him too.Kiernan’s video of his last interview is circulating all over the media and internet at large because of the highlighted powerful words he uttered which are true.
He speaks of how much he has contributed to the entertainment industry to put out good music. Kiernan speaks of how he tried to save the South African hip hop music genre in its downfall.
He says he has given a lot to this industry; his time, blood, sweat and tears. He indeed was a hard worker because he would spend so many hours in studio writing songs and producing music. Kiernan would call other artists in his studio to feature and work with him. At some moments it was not easy as seen above that time was spent and he shed so much sweat, blood and tears.
May his soul continue to rest in peace.
