“I’m not okay” – Emtee The Hustla expresses his emotions about AKA’s death

I assume that everyone has now come to the knowledge of the sad news addressing the death of Kiernan Jarryd Forbes who is well known as AKA. Fans, friends, family, colleagues and the world at large are expressing their emotions by venting on their social media platforms. We are all still in disbelief of these excruciating news and the Forbes family remains inconsolable.

Mthembeni Ndevu who is famously and professionally known as Emtee The Hustla is a South African rapper who has also expressed his feelings about the death of AKA. Emtee has worked with the deceased and gained more recognition after being publicly recommended by him. It has also come to his ears that AKA is no more but because of disbelief he did not react immediately just like the rest of the other artists. Emtee has recently shared old pictures of him and AKA when he had just made his debut on the entertainment industry with “I’m not okay” as his caption.Working alongside AKA was very advantageous for Emtee as a hip hop newcomer at that time. It helped him gain the recognition he needed for his music to be streamed a million times.

Emtee learnt a lot from AKA as an artist who had long been in the industry and he was more like a mentor to him. He has shared snippets of their last moments shared together at the studio doing what they do best, creating music. We trust and believe that Emtee will continue where AKA left off. Our condolences go to Emtee who is saddened by the loss of his colleague. May Kiernan Jarryd Forbes continue to rest in peace, his legacy will continue to leave on.
