Voice-over artist and radio presenter Bongani Njoli will be buried at his home in Langa

BONGANI Njoli, the voice of e.tv, was restoring his vocation when he passed on.

As per the channel, he was in the studio to do a voice-over for another mission last month, however, it was deferred on the grounds that he was debilitated.

Bongani, who voiced overs for the station for over 10 years, kicked the bucket at 53 years old on Sunday, 22 January.

Corporate correspondences supervisor Bennum van Jaarsveld said: “His inauspicious passing comes as a shock. He was in studio with us in December 2022 for another film crusade yet sadly, as he was too powerless to even think about recording, we put the mission on pause.”

Van Jaarsveld said Bongani was a legend.

“As the most conspicuous voice of our Friday Activity Night film promotions and end-of-the-week blockbusters, Bongs was a genuine legend and part of the e family for a considerable length of time,” he said.

Van Jaarsveld said the channel had contacted the family and would assist with the memorial service.

Bongani’s niece Bongiwe said he became sick a couple of months before his demise.

“He became ill in October and it deteriorated as the months went on.”

Bongiwe said Bongani was adored by the entirety of his relatives.

“He abandons his mum, siblings.

“He additionally abandons his little girl Thembisa, nieces Bongiwe, Sibulele and Amanda and his accomplice Sharon Mrawuli,” said Bongiwe.

“He was an extremely cherishing individual and consistently focused on his loved ones.

“He was a man of harmony, trustworthiness and humankind. He would forfeit the little he had for us.

“Indeed, even his children called him ‘malume’, as he was warmly known in the family,” she said.

He will be covered on 4 February at his home in Langa, Cape Town.
