Real Life Facts about Bonga Mpofu from Generations

Tabile Tau (born 20 May 1999) is a South African actor and model best known for his role as Bonga in the SABC1 soapie Generations: The Legacy.
Born and raised in Cape Town, he matriculated from Settlers High School and furthered his studies at AFDA in Cape Town, graduating in 2020 in with a BA degree in live performance.
His television acting debut came in the 2020 TV movie Pinky Pinky, a horror film that aired on streaming service Showmax.
He next landed the recurring role of Young Abednego (the older version being played by Senzo Radebe) in the BET telenovela Isono: The Sin.


 

 

 

 

 

 

He made his first appearance in the role in Season 1, Episode 5, which aired on 5 October, 2020.
Two months later Tabile debuted on Generations: The Legacy as Bonga, the estranged son of divorced parents Fikile (Refilwe Madumo) and Ben Mpofu (Khulu Skenjana).
He was first credited as Bonga in an episode which aired on 11 December, 2020 and continued playing the role into 2021.
Also in 2021, Tabile landed a role in another Showmax telefilm, Goodbye Gogo.
Next up was the recurring role of Mzwa in the 1Magic drama series The Station, which premiered on 3 April, 2021.
Tabile landed his first starring role in television when he was cast as Phiri in the 1Magic drama series Grootboom & Sons, which debuted on 2 October, 2021.
Another starring role followed, this time as Zola, a teenage maths genius with a temper who is accused of murder, in the SABC1 drama series Good Men.
The series premiered on 4 September, 2022.
