Watch out 2023 – Mampho is on her way in a huge way, says actress Gaisang Noge! Love her or hate to love her, we can’t deny that this character has “that thing” about her.

 
She is a go-getter. Mampho doesn’t care what people think about her. It may not make sense to them but if Mampho wants something, she’s going to go for what she wants and she does it with her chest out.

But all that glitters (and boy, does Mampho glitter!) isn’t gold. Last year, viewers saw how unable she is of receiving love, so Mampho doesn’t know how to return love to those who give it to her.

She is fearful of love because she has abandonment issues from her childhood. But that same development phase of her character’s life has given Gaisang something to be proud of.

When she came back and announced herself by saying, ‘Mampho Mampho the Return Baba’ [mimicking the line from the iconic drama series Yizo Yizo line], that was the beginning of magical madness.

From that moment, she and I came up with so much as almost one person. Naming her daughter Busi (Baby Tshiamo) ‘Madibuseng’… and just truly being truthful to herself and diving fully into who and how Mampho sees the world has been a revelation.

In 2023, viewers should prepare for a more mature Mampho. She’s going to choose herself, she will do what’s best for her and her baby girl. Whatever happens, she mustn’t lose her magic.
