A memorial service will be place on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Bishop Vusi Dube’s eThekwini Community Church in the Durban Central Business District in honor of the late award-winning musician Mandla Maphumulo, commonly known as Mampintsha.

On Friday, the funeral service for Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo, who was a member of the well-known Gqom band Big Nuz, will take place in Durban.

Before departing for the burial, his loved ones will gather at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli ICC in Durban for a funeral procession. This will take place before they leave.

Maphumulo, who was better known to those who followed him as Shimora, passed away unexpectedly early on Saturday morning in a hospital. He had suffered a mild stroke approximately two weeks ago.

Fans of Big Nuz will get the opportunity to say their final goodbyes to him on Thursday morning during a memorial ceremony that will be held at the eThekwini Community Church.

According to a family representative named Zanele, his musician wife Bongekile Simelane, better known as Babes Wodumo, had a difficult time accepting her husband’s passing. Simelane is better known by her stage name.

The late musician was admitted to the hospital after suffering a stroke one week after performing a concert with his band, according to Zanele’s statement at the time.

In July of 2021, Maphumulo and Babes Wodumo welcomed their first child into the world.
