Waking up to see another day in this country should be counted among the biggest blessings, people are getting shot and killed day in and day out in South Africa, this is all because there are so many unlicensed firearms in the hands of people who are trigger happy, they just find pleasure in killing a fellow human being, lives are no longer valued and criminals are literally calling the shots in our country, we hardly ever wake up without some shooting incident where people were, the same thing happened on Sunday as we woke up to the news about the death of DJ Sumbody who was shot dead.
The South African entertainment industry suffered a major blow last weekend when Amapiano artist Oupa Sefoka famously known as DJ Sumbody was reported to have been shot dead, those who are his fans were left shattered as they could not believe that their icon’s life was cut shot just like that, but there was very little they could do about it except to accept and move on with life.
Sefoka is being remembered as family members, fellow musicians and friends have gathered alin Centurion to attend his memorial service, it is reported that they have gathered in their numbers to celebrate and remember Oupa’s life.
“Family, friends and the music industry at large has gathered in Pretoria to celebrate the life of Oupa Sefoka known as #Djsumbody . His memorial service is being held in Centurion. Sefoka and another person he was traveling with was shot and killed in a hail of bullets this past weekend in Sandton. The motive for the shooting is still unknown,” Silindelo Masekane of ENCA reports on Twitter.
The clearly distraught family member were filmed while entering the Lewende Woord Church in Centurion, some were in tears and some were even collapsing, they could not bear the picture of having to bid their loved one farewell so soon, they were never ready to lose him in this fashion, but some trigger happy people decided to cut his life short, the family is now mourning, the kids are left without a father after their provider was brutally killed in a hail of bullets over the weekend.
The South African Police Services are still calling on anyone with information on what may have been happening when he was shot dead to come forward and assist with information.
