The death of popular musician Dj Sumbody came as a shock to many South Africans when it was announced on Sunday morning. The reasons behind the musician’s death have not been cleared, but it is said that he was shot and killed together with his driver.
Cassper Nyovest is one of the popular artists who worked closely with the deceased. Cassper was featured on the hit song that served as a breakthrough for Dj Sumbody called ‘monate mpolaye’.
The artists continued to work together on other projects. Nyovest seems to be one of the first people to receive the sad news about the passing of the popular DJ. On his social media account, Nyovest posted “Batho ba slege jo! Ai Mara bafethu this can’t be it.” The translation of Cassper’s words is “People are cruel, no guys, this can’t be it.”
Cassper’s post is a reaction to something bad which has happened. The time of his post, is not too seperated from the alleged time of Dj Sumbody’s death. Since then Cassper has not posted or commented on any social media platform.
The people on social media have also remembered Nyovest in this difficult times. Mgijimi posted that when he heard of Dj Sumbody apparently the first person he thought of was Cassper. “This guy has been loosing almost everyone, he has been close with. We really need to take it easy on him, he must be definitely going through alot.”
“Waking up to devastating news that Dj Sumbody has passed on, in the early hours of this morning. I wonder how is Cassper Nyovest taking the news.” Prince also shared on social media.
It is not surprising that some people are thinking about Cassper during this time. The reality is that Cassper Nyovest lost two of the best peers he has worked with, in a period of 10 months. First it was Ricky Rick and now, it is DJ Sumbody. This must be hard for him, especially with only two weeks to his Fill Up Mabatho event. Life is not fair and too short.
