According to Wiseman Mncube, who portrays the second Mqhele in the Showmax telenovela The Wife, he will reprise his well-known role as Sibonelo in Uzalo at the season three premiere of The Wife on November 6.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mncube, who left Uzalo a few months ago after his character was hurt by Njinji Magwaza (Thembi Nyandeni) and fled to Nigeria, has started filming on Uzalo and will return in 2022, although he was unable to give us a specific date.

The actor additionally told City Press that Sbonelo, a character in Uzalo, was a lot like his most recent role, Mqhele.

“When I look at Mqhele and Sbonelo, I see the same person, they are similar – stubborn and violent – so, when I read the script, I could not get my head off Sbonelo. So, I had to differentiate and not take Mqhele to Uzalo and vice versa.”

After Bonko Khoza left the show two months ago, the well-known actor who now plays Mqhele on The Wife told City Press that he was looking forward to the challenge of his new role.

“I am excited, but I can also say it is mixed emotions because Mqhele is a role that was played by Bonko and people loved him. Replacing a person is not an easy thing because now people are waiting to see how I will do, and he has loyal fans. But, as an actor, it puts me on the edge because I love challenges that put me out of my comfort zone.”
