The country is still trying to come to terms with the untimely and shocking death of Media personality Pearl Shongwe.

Shongwe was found dead in her home in Polo Fields on the 08th of November.

 

Reports say that neighbors called the police to report the incident, her family asked to be given privacy at this moment.

The SABC has released the details of her memorial service to take place this week.

In the invitation opened to the public, the service will take place at the SABC offices in Auckland Park on Wednesday 16 November.

A YouTube link will be released for the public to tune in and be a part of the proceedings.

Tributes and messages of condolences have been pouring in for the 35 year old MetroFM and Daily Theta presenter.

The Metro FM family has been dedicating shows and playing some of the special archived moments in commemoration of Pearl who has been called a beautiful person inside and out.

Pearl was said to bring life to everyone and shared her brilliant mind with everyone.

She is said to have been found faced down in her home and her family confirmed that she died in her sleep.

Shongwe was a multitalented journalist,TV Presenter and voice over artist.

Metro FM reached out to her sister and she called Pearl a workaholic who gave everything to her work. Her colleagues said she dedicated so much of her life to work that she didn’t have a social life.

The police have opened an inquest docket after a 35 year old woman was found dead at her Polo Fields home.

The inquest is supposed to help in establishing the cause of death.

Shongwe began her career in the media at a young age and pursued it until she became a correspondent for Mo Flava on his morning drive show at popular Youth station Yfm.

She then joined the SABC and explored many avenues on radio and television as a news anchor and a producer.

Pearl leaves behind a great legacy.

Celebrities like Somizi expressed how impacted they were by the loss of Pearl. Somizi worked closely with Pearl when he was still hosting a show at MetroFM.

Details of Shongwe’s funeral haven’t been shared as of yet.
