In Uzalo, veteran actor Ronald Mkhwanazi, who currently portrays Njinji’s right-hand man Simon Nsimbi, spent two decades performing in theater productions and various TV series abroad.

Mkhwanazi tells Daily Sun that ten years ago, when he returned from abroad, hunger met him as he went from audition to audition in vain.

“I went from one audition to another, without any luck. I was out of money. If you’re not working, you won’t have money. I didn’t lose hope because I knew something would come up. This went on until Uzalo rescued me.”

The actor continues by stating that Gibson Kente, a well-known playwright in Mzansi, is where he first got his start in acting in the 1970s.

He left high school in grade 10, pursued acting in Europe, and then settled in America in 1983.

His character Simon Nsimbi, also known as Bab’Nsimbi to Uzalo viewers, is in a relationship with Njinji, his boss and a former Isibaya actress.

This week, the sangoma persona of MaMlambo played by Gugu Gumede revealed that Njinji’s deceased husband is not pleased with their relationship and will not bless it because they began seeing each other while he was still alive.

Njinji cheated on her husband with her right-hand man, and even after she is purified, they might have to call it quits.
