The rumored death of Ifeanyi Adeleke, son of popular music artist Davido and his fiancée, Chioma Rowland, has sparked outrage.
The circumstances surrounding Ifeanyi’s death were still unknown at the time this report was filed.
Unconfirmed reports, however, suggested that Davido’s first son drowned in a swimming pool at his home in Lagos State’s Banana Island area.
After being pulled from the swimming pool, the three-year-old victim was reportedly rushed to a hospital in the state’s Lekki area, where he was confirmed dead by one of the doctors on duty.
As of the time this report was filed, the victim’s family had yet to respond to the tragic development.
However, since the rumored death of Ifeanyi became public knowledge, Nigerians, particularly entertainment fans, have been outraged and traumatized by the news.
Several celebrities have posted cryptic messages that appear to confirm Ifeanyi’s death. Among them are comedians Ayo Makun and Lasisi Elenu, as well as radio personality Daddy Freeze.
“The death of a child is unnatural, unfair, and tragic, this hit me so hard,” Makun wrote on Instagram early Tuesday.
“When the person you love is someone involved, it becomes a heavy emotional burden,” Daddy Freeze said on Instagram in the early hours of Tuesday morning. I’m not confirming anything, but please bear with me because I won’t be online tonight.”
“Father heal your children’s hearts from this pain, strengthen them in such a dark and hurtful time, oh Lord,” Lasisi Elenu added.
Rosemary Afuwape, a reality TV star and actress, posted on her Instagram story, “My heart can’t take this.” This is excruciatingly painful. Please accept my condolences, Chioma and Davido. There are no words that can console your hearts. I deeply regret your loss.”
As of 1.28 a.m., the rumored death of Ifeanyi was the most trending topic on Twitter.The rumored death, on the other hand, stemmed from a now-deleted post by actress Eniola Badmus late Monday.
Nigerians reacted angrily to Badmus’ post, accusing her of leaking such sensitive information to the public.
