Former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane’s has failed to attend a pre-trial conference in which a settlement could’ve possibly been discussed to end his legal battle with his former club.
News of Mosimane’s legal team’s failure to attend the pre-trial conference, which was held on August 18, is contained in the pre-trial conference minutes filed at Johannesburg High Court on August 23, in the minutes, Mamelodi Sundowns’ lawyers, Bowman Gilfillan Inc, sent an email to Mosimane’s lawyers requesting for suitable dates to hold the pre-trial conference.
Sundowns took Mosimane and his wife’s company Tlhagale Sports Marketing and Management to court in 2021, demanding that they pay back over R8-million agent commission they received from the club.
The commission was linked to Mosimane’s R1.5-million salary per month he was earning at the club, before he left them for Egyptian Giants Al Ahly.
In the papers, Mosimane admitted that he had signed a contract on May 2020, for him to manage Sundowns until 2024. However, he said his relationship with club deteriorated later that year and rendered their working relationship intolerable, he then went on joined Al Ahly in October 2020.
However, previous reports said that Mosimane left Sundowns to seek a new challenge that will push me out of his comfort zone.
Mosimane has insisted that PSL can afford and he didn’t join Al Ahly for money but because he needed a challenge. Then 57-year-old coach is believed to have been earning R2.5-million per month from the Egyptian Giants. R1-million more from what he earned at Mamelodi Sundowns.
