On 25 September 1984, Sphiwe Tshabalala was born in Phiri as the firstborn to his parents. The young boy lived all his childhood in a face brick house until he was 19. That would be better if the face brick house were his father. Sphiwe lived in his grandparents’ house until that age since his parents could not afford to buy a house or rent better accommodation. His father was a relatively poor man employed as a Taxi driver. At that time, the Taxi drivers had no money compared to the current Taxi driver.

Sphiwe attended his secondary education at Seanamarena Secondary School in Phiri, Soweto.
