After being cancer-free for more than 10 years, she wrote on Instagram on Thursday that she was having trouble coming to terms with the news.
“I wanted to thank you all very much for your prayers, well-wishes, generosity, and acts of kindness.
I’m home and getting over the side effects of my first treatment for the cancer in my lungs, liver, ribs, spinal cord, and hips. I’m having trouble coming to terms with what my doctor told me. It’s both scary and hard to do. Pray for peace and acceptance that you can’t explain. “Peace, Love, and Happiness.”
She broke the hearts of Mzansi when she said in August that her fight with cancer was not over.
Zoleka said in the Instagram post that she was devastated by the news and that her oncologist had done a CT scan and a bone scan to find out if she had cancer in any part of her body.
“What do I say to my kids? How do I tell them that I might not be able to live my life as a survivor this time? How do I tell them everything will be fine when it’s not? I’m dying. I don’t want to die.
Zoleka said she was going to get another bone scan to find out if she had cancer anywhere else.
The author shared the news on Instagram. In her autobiography, When Hope Whispers, she wrote about her 10-year battle with breast cancer.
“The CT scan showed that I have cancer in both my lungs and liver. I haven’t heard back about my bone scan yet, so I don’t know if I have cancer beyond my ribs. I am barely holding on. Thank you all for the love, prayers, and support you have shown. Peace. “Passion and happiness,” she wrote.
