Samuel L. Jackson is aware of what it takes to raise a successful family. Over the past few decades, the Django Unchained actor has learnt a lot about parenting by co-parenting Zoe Jackson with his wife of many years, LaTanya Jackson (née Richardson).
In 1982, Samuel and LaTanya welcomed their cherished daughter. Two years after the couple’s 1980 wedding, the baby was born. The Pulp Fiction actor revealed to The Guardian that they first became friends while attending Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, about ten years ago.
After Samuel and the Fighting Temptations actress had children, the Avengers actor put his profession on hold for nearly five years in order to concentrate on fatherhood and his wife. Samuel claimed that having a “absentee dad” as a child was one of the reasons he delayed accepting jobs until he returned in 1987 with Uncle Tom’s Cabin.
We stayed married for 30 years because, in his words to the Irish Examiner in March 2011, “It was always vital to me that I was part of my daughter’s life and she deserved two parents.”
The actor was able to spend a lot of quality time with his daughter by giving Zoe all of his attention. During a 2014 visit on The Late Show, Samuel and David Letterman had a conversation about the amusing ways he used to put Zoe to sleep.
“I recall all the times I read to my daughter when she was that age, despite the fact that everyone claims that doing so will help children to asleep. He made a joke with the host, “It didn’t in my house.
Because of his strict upbringing, the daughter of Samuela and LaTanya became a very talented and hardworking young woman. Zoe’s parents are both well-known Hollywood figures, so it’s no wonder that she chose to follow in their careers and become an actor and producer.
Even though Zoe has her father to look up to, the Hitman’s Bodyguard actor said his child inspires him greatly.
