The legendary singer is the proud mother of four boys. Yvonne’s children were born in the 1980s-1990s, which means they are now adults. They have their own lives and families, making Yvonne a grandmother. Her first son, Ningi Mhinga, has a daughter with Tamara Dey, a club diva, songwriter and singer who has successfully bridged the gap between different ages, cultures and races despite the various officially recognised languages in South Africa. One of Tamara ‘s hit song is Colors featuring Dj Zinhle.

Tamara and Ningi dated for years and had a child in 2017. However their relationship ended. The singer even filed a lawsuit against her child’s father, for R4.5 million child maintenance. A petition filed in the Randburg District Court asking Ningi Mhinga to increase the monthly child support for their daughter Lalabella from R10,000 to R20,000. The issue was later resolved and the former lovers are now co-parenting very well.
