Mthandeni Dlamuka, better known as Bab’ Dlamuka on the South African reality show Isencane Lengane, has passed away.
Mr. Dlamuka died after a long illness, and his son Siyacela Dlamuka broke the news to the public, so says the report.
South Africans were first introduced to a reality tv show about a teenage couple (Siyacela Dlamuka and Thando Msomi) about three years ago. The couple wanted the country to follow their journey as they prepared to get married at the age of 16.
The show has its roots in KwaZulu Natal and is presently airing its fourth season. It will be the first child for the couple, who have been married for three years.
Mthandeni Dlamuka, Siyacela’s dad and one of the show’s most prominent actors, was a fan favorite. He has been with the show from the first season, when he helped Siyacela plan her wedding.
Since Mr. Dlamuka revealed at the end of the previous season that he was sick and taking a sabbatical from the show, he has not appeared on the show since the beginning of season 4.
Mr. Dlamuka was well-liked by his numerous followers; he and his son Siyacela did not always agree, but he was always there for him.
Adding additional dimension to the play and a wealth of traditional knowledge, he will be sorely missed.
