Meet South African Celebrities Who Have Vanished From The Limelight

Being utterly forgotten after a few months after releasing a few singles that are at the top of the charts is the worst feeling in the world.

Some local celebrities in the entertainment industry have tried to make a comeback but failed, while others have given in to the pressure and competition of the business.

South Africa’s entertainment business may be small, but there are plenty of new talent making their impact right now. It cannot accommodate all kinds of performances as a result.

Some celebrities are turning away from the limelight to concentrate on extracurricular activities like philanthropy and other interests.

1. Zinhle Mabena

She is best recognized for her performances as Sphesihle on Intersexions and as Tshireletso on eKasi: Our Stories. She gave birth to a child with her husband, Robert Ngwenya. Mabena made the decision to take a break from work in order to give her family and her child more attention.

2. Florence Mokgatsi

Florence Mokgatsi’s Isibaya persona was terminated in 2019 after getting married in 2017 and welcoming a new child.

She is also well known for her role as Tshidi in the SABC1 children’s drama series Soul Buddyz. She also had a small role in the SABC1 sitcom Nomzamo. She got married to her longtime partner James Segal in 2017. She was obliged to take a break from her job in show business since they had a lovely child.

3. Kagiso Rakosa

One of Kagiso Rakosa’s most well-known roles is Sharon, a character she played on the SABC1 serial opera Generations. She portrayed Detective Lungi Mlaba’s sister in the eKasi+ detective drama Traffic, portrayed by Bonnie Mbuli (also played by Andiswa Mlaba). She was set to return to Generations in 2015 after leaving the show a few years prior. However, her admirers are still eagerly awaiting her return.
