Peace Be Still| 2 Fighting Shembe Factions Met In A Funeral, No Incident Reported

Fighting Shembe factions are set to go for a funeral and peace talks are underway to avoid quarreling during the funeral.

Peace is expected to be the order of the day when the two Shembe factions attend a funeral, police are also among the mourners to assist in putting order during the funeral. The two factions are Buhleni and Kuphakameni from Nanda and the funeral is at Bhekabaziyo which is the church’s burial ground. The two Nazareth leaders who are fighting for the leadership of the Buhleni congregation, Nyazilwezulu and Phinda Shembe or Khanyakwelanga are expected to meet with their members in July. Nyazi is from Matabetulu Mzinyathi near Nanda and Khanyakwelanga is from Sibusisweni in Nanda.


 

 

 

 

Members from Buhleni will hold a funeral service at the old headquarters located which is located at Kwabhekezayo in Kuphakameni in Nanda. They will have to pass through the premises of Sibusisweni without having to fight with the members. The spokesperson from Khanyakwelanga has confirmed that the two factions will not fight. The spokesperson for Nyazilwezulu Also confirmed that no fighting will take place between the two. As it is now the Nazarene members are in mourning until the end of July. Once Nyazilwezulu declares that the mourning is over then the members will choose maidens for the bench.

According to Nyazilwezulu, no one below the age of eighteen must be chosen and if someone above eighteen is chosen they can decline and no one will be blamed. Mncwabe emphasized that the rule applies to all the members of Nazareth, only those girls over eighteen will be selected. Since the beginning of July, there is a lot of abstaining done by the members. Even the faction that is fighting has to lay aside their weapons and concentrate on mourning. The members are also fasting and have to abstain from lovemaking and entertainment is closed during this period.
