As previously reported, House Of Zwide has caught viewers attention and managed to climb the ladder to become the second most watched show on Etv. It currently peaks at 4.6 millions viewers (June ratings). This marks a new dawn for Etv productions after Rhythm City was discontinued. Entertainment Commentator Phil Mphela has revealed that House Of Zwide has scored 8 Nominations at the upcoming SAFTA 16th edition awards. This includes individual nominations for the cast, behind the scenes crew (writers, lighting and set). They are going heard to head with Skeem Saam as it has also received a whooping 6 nominations at it takes center stage to grace us with their 8th season.

This year’s nominations are very diverse but i think that the judging panel has went for very obvious choices. They should have went for a much broader selection to include independent productions that aired on streaming services like Showmax and Netflix. Just take a look at Savage Beauty – the best local series that has been released this year. Not forgetting The Wife. These are some of the shows that deserved recognition for their outstanding work.
