The future of South African football looks bright, as the young players across the country are getting the exposure and places to display their talents, unlike the yesteryears when it was almost impossible to get a chance to show your talent at a young age.
Big clubs in the country like Kaizer Chiefs Football Club, Orlando Pirates Club, and Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club are leading the pack when it comes to youth football, as three South African football giants have found a way to unearth young talented players in the country and give them a chance to play and make their names in one of the top youth competitions in the country, before playing for the senior teams.
This has in the past benefited Sundowns, as they managed to produce players like Themba Zwane, Percy Tau, and Sipho Mbule through their scouting network that is said to be one of the best in the country if not Africa.
The success of the club’s development rank’s ability to produce several top young players has been under their top junior scout and coach, Mandla Mazibuko who is responsible for the discovery of most of Sundowns players that are currently playing in the club’s reserve side(Dstv Diski Challange) and the Gauteng Development League(GDL).
He has worked with many youth tournament hosts around the country in his journey to discover the next top stars of this country before his untimely death, which left the likes of Steve Khompela and Simphiwe Tshabalala traumatised while confirming his passing.
His passing is not just a loss to his family, but to South African football as well, as through his hard work and eye for talent the county has been able to produce some of the most talented players the country has ever seen.
We as @TheUpdate. we would also like to take this time and offer our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the family of Mr Mazibuko, Sundowns, and South African football for your loss, and may God Almighty gather you the strength to be able to go through this untimely ordeal.
