Seeing so many small caskets in such a large amount is heartbreaking. Despite their sorrow, the families of the 21 students killed in the Enyobeni Tavern disaster are holding a mass funeral today. Even if there were social media posts inviting children to that free booze event with a dress code, you keep pointing the finger at the weakest link. Given this tragedy, shouldn’t advertising for alcoholic beverages be restricted in the same way as it is for cigarette products? Excessive alcohol use is a leading cause of death, and that’s not even considering the correlation between alcohol and domestic violence.

No doubt you will find communities raising concerns long before any such tragedy occurs, it is just unfortunate that in most cases these business people are allowed to operate their businesses without really following the rules which are set in place to ensure that people are protected.

Government, on all levels, in all departments, is disconnected and dysfunctional. There’s just no accountability whatsoever you will never find an incident where a top official has to go down to a province to check if things are being done accordingly, most of the cases money has been thrown around and no one comes around and says okay let’s see what you did with that money.
