If you were to be asked who is the most hard working actor both local and abroad who would it be? For me I’ll call out Thuso Mbedu’s name any time of the day because her work has been astonishing. After bagging the best female performance award for her lead role on Underground Railroad, she has been approached by a lot of media houses including the current project she is working on. Entertainment Commentator Phil Mphela has revealed that Thuso Mbedu will be one of the selected speakers at the Discover Film Festival. It will take place from the 18th of October to the 20th (it’s a 3 day event in Johannesburg). For those that wish to attend, I’m sure a virtual link will be made available to view the proceedings online.

Partnering with Paramount

In April it was announced that she has signed a first-look deal with Paramount’s VIS social impact division. When interviewed, their spokesperson indicated that after seeing her role on MTV’s Shuga and Underground Railroad – they are in no doubt that her skill and expertise will fuel growth in impact driven content.
