Fans were heartbroken to learn that Suffocate, who had played the character for more than a decade on e.tv’s Rhythm City, would be leaving the show soon. Mduduzi Mabaso, on the other hand, sees it as an opportunity to reclaim Mzansi’s heart with a fresh character.

Mduduzi detailed his journey to becoming Suffo and now letting go of the character to accept new ones in an interview with TshisaLIVE.

“Wow, first and foremost, I’d like to state that I’ve always let go of Suffo. Every time I finish working, I leave the character at work. But, make no mistake, it will always be with you. “Suffocate may be dead today because Rhythm City is defunct,” he explained, “but that character will always be with me.”
