Connie (Masilo) Ferguson, 52, is an actress who was born on June 10, 1970, to Fish and Margaret Masilo. She was born in Kimberley, Northern Cape, South Africa, and grew up in Lobatse, Botswana’s southernmost town.
Connie Ferguson recently became a widow after her husband, Aaron ‘Shona’ Ferguson, a well-known figure in the entertainment industry, died on June 26th, 2021.
Connie Ferguson’s Academic qualifications
Connie Ferguson, the Queen actress, completed her matric in Kimberly, Northern Cape. She enrolled in tertiary education after graduating matric with flying colours. Surprisingly, in the beginning, Connie Ferguson set out to study law at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. In her second year, she failed criminal law and was forced to drop out of university.
Connie tried her hand at acting in theatre plays after dropping out of university. She would sit in on theatre classes and observe while others practiced. She eventually developed an interest in acting, which launched her career in the entertainment industry.
In 1994, she landed a role as Karabo Moroka on the long-running show Generations. Despite having no formal acting training, she nailed her role and made Mzansi fall in love with her character. Generations’ production team wanted their cast members to have a certificate in Arts or something similar after years of portraying Karabo Moroka.
Connie Ferguson then enrolled in a Drama and Performance degree program. In 2012, the actress received her graduate degree, and her late husband, Shona Ferguson, gifted her with a brand new Mercedes Benz.
