Lindiwe Zulu: I am Pained but we have to Follow due Processes with R350 Grants

Public Development Minister Lindiwe Zulu expressed that as awards were not generally paid in the COVID-19 guidelines, new guidelines had became created and concurred with banks.

Zulu said she is tormented that individuals have not accepted their R350 Social Relief of Distress awards.

 
Addressing Bongani Bingwa, she said the change in COVID-19 guidelines implied they needed to change their concurrences with the banks.

She further said she would meet with her group on Friday to examine the installment of the R350 social difficulty installment in light of the fact that a mind blowing number of potential recipients have not accepted their awards in the beyond 90 days.

Zulu stated that the cash will be paid mid-June yet can’t focus on a date as dealings are continuous with banks.

In her statements she said;

“We are really, really sorry that we’ve had to go through this process and it’s taking this long but this money will be paid to the right beneficiaries.”

“We are going to be paying back from the time that people applied, and when they applied they were approved so the payments that will be done will be backdated.”
