Deborah Fraser was a gospel singer from South Africa. She was also famously referred to as “Doctor Deborah Fraser.” Her career kicked off in 1985 as a backup singer, and she recorded her first album in 2000, titled Abanye Bayombona. The album has sold over 1 million copies.
The Twitter world was left blazing with fire after Moffat Manganyi blamed a Nigerian scammer for the financial situation that the late Deborah Fraser was in before she died. In his tweet, he wrote, “She was scammed by her ex-Nigerian husband of everything.” Nigerians marry for one reason only, we tell our sisters: the green book. They say we’re jealous. ”
Like anybody else, she had choices and she made one. I don’t think it is wise and fair to blame the Nigerian guy for the choices she made.
Below are some of the sentiments from various people on Twitter. “Please,
it’s not a Nigerian thing.” It’s a personal human thing. Not all Nigerians are scammers. Please let us correct the narrative plea. I am not saying we don’t have people scamming in Nigeria, but not everyone is a scammer in Nigeria. Please? “I’m sorry about how some of us paint others in the country, but please let’s stop generalising,” says a Twitter user regarding the blame on Nigerians.
“There was a lady that worked for Transnet for many years.” She fell in love with a Nigerian. He made her resign and sell her house. He promised to be a manager on the Nigerian railway. He took all her pension money, and she ended up selling bread on the streets of Lagos, “says Lungelo. ”
We don’t know, but listening to both sides of the story, mismanagement of funds was her fault.” When you are employed and given what you signed for, you can’t wake up when you are broke and say they scammed you. I also wish I could share that this other sister was left with debts and a suspended prison sentence for fraud… The Nigerian Guy was smuggled out of the country by SAPS and the NPA. They don’t only scam you but use you for fraud as well. ” Added Mehlokazulu
