J’Something wows Mzansi as he samples Nomfundo Moh’s song Phakade Lami

Legendary musician J’Something has given Nomfundo Moh her flowers on her song Phakade Lami. J’Something it’s not just a musician but also a bonafide musician and a businessman who belongs to the award-winning group Micasa.

Phakade Lami is a beautiful song about love sung by South African singer Nomfundo Moh. The artist features Ami Faku and Shasha in the track.

According to reports, a few days ago, she announced on her Instagram that she received a Double Platinum Plaque for Phakade Lami while at her graduation ceremony in UKZN on the weekend.

She allegedly revealed that she wrote the song herself in 2020, but just her verse and the chorus, then her team worked day and night to get Ami Faku and Shasha to add their beautiful voices to the song. She says it was a surprise when she learned that the two powerhouses were in her music when she finally heard the final product on her birthday last year.

The song is about Missing a loved one, and it is a catchy slow jam rich with an eclectic sound from the 80s and a modern sound.

It’s not a surprise that the song received a Double Platinum Plaque; Nomfundo delivers beautiful vocals on the chorus that are hard to forget.

J’Something has also acknowledged the beauty of the song, so much so that he did a rendition of the song with his lyrics.

J added his beautiful voice to his lyrics to the song. He breaks into a sultry verse and then lets Nomfundo support him with her sweet voice on the chorus.

The Micasa lead singer did not disappoint, and he gave his interpretation while remaining protective of the art of the original song.

The singer wrote a caption to appreciate how beautiful this song is. He said he heard this song on the radio and felt like responding to it. He asked people to share his video if they liked what he did.

“Well done in a great record Nomfundo. I am proud of you. This is great music.”

The three ladies recently met up to do a video for Phakade Lami, and it has been viewed 9.8 million times.
