She is the reason Uzalo was able to attract so many onlookers, dressed in three-piece suits, blonde weave, or fashionable hats, and dubbed “gossipmongers” with MaDongwe.

She first dated a young man named Kehla, who was performed by actor Thobani Nzuza, after his parents put him out on Uzalo. King K, as MaMadlala called him, took advantage of MaMadlala’s loneliness and emptied her pockets. She had a thing with Sbu after sending him seductive text messages on the spur of the moment, and she recently fell in love with Nomgca.

Real-life actress Ntombifuthi Dlamini has disputed claims that she is drawn to young men. The happily married mother of one kept her personal life private, although she did say that she is not like Mamadlala.

“I am a shy person who is not an outspoken churchgoer like MaMadlala in real life; the onscreen part is not who I am; I am married and have two children.”

Ntombifuthi Dlamini joined the Uzalo as MaMadlala cast in what capacity?

Gladys Mamadlala – Ntombifuthi Dlamini worked at a hospital in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, as a morgue cleaner.

She auditioned for the Uzalo part when production organizers swarmed KwaMashu in search of extras to represent church members in 2014. She made such an impression on Stained Glass Production that she was given the lead part in season 7 of Uzalo.

Ntombifuthi Dlamini stays with her late sister’s children before landing the Uzalo role and comes out about her financial difficulties.

‘I thank God every day for this on-screen position; I previously worked as a maid and was struggling to feed my family financially.’ I thank God that the company (Stained Glass Production) hired me despite my lack of qualifications.”

Since winning a big role on Uzalo, Ntombifuthi Dlamini has been on a R 35 000 per month deal.
