Image: Julius Malema started the Nkandla tea party trend.
Tea parties in Nkandla have become a regular affair ever since Malema made it fashionable last year. It seems troubled souls have a tendency of stopping by ‘the palace’ for council from Nxamalala himself. Another ‘Nkandla guest’ has recently popped in at Nkandla. The guest is none other than Former Health Minister’s son Dedani Mkhize. After his visit, Dedani took to Twitter to thank the former President for hosting him. We guess Zuma spoke some ‘sense’ to him.
Dedani made headlines when some R1.6-million was funnelled from the Digital Vibes contract to businesses he owns. In the SIU’s findings following its probe into the R150m Digital Vibes contract, Mkhize is accused of having received R6.7m while his son, Dedani, is said to have received a payment of R3.8m despite not doing any work. However the Former Minister, Zweli Mkhize claims he was unaware that Digital Vibes gifted his son millions from the proceeds of a R150 million health department tender due to their “strained” relationship.
Now the Hawks are after Zweli Mkhize who is reported to be gunning down for the Head of State status. Dedani’s visit to Zuma may be a strategy to help his dad out, criminal to criminal. Is Dedani hoping Zuma will help with strategy to assist Zweli Mkhize duck accountability like he did? Who knows? Question about Zuma’s support for Zweli Mkhize have been raised by some social media followers following Dedani’s visit to Nkandla. “Who is Jacob Zuma campaigning for? Zweli Mkhize? I see he is being having few meetings with Zweli Mkhize’s son Dedani”, a Twitter user asked. We also want to know!
Just a reminder that Zweli Mkhize’s equally rogue son, Dedani – who has now been outed as the Bagman – bought his lamb a Louis Vuitton silk bandeau, kitted it & came on Twitter to brag. Yet Cyril said we should be grateful to Zweli for serving us. There are a few similarities about Dedani and Zuma’s controversial son, Duduzane Zuma. They both steal and flaunt!
