Dabula misses the old days when Maseko had a lot of girlfriends, you could tell when they were preparing for a ceremony. There was a lot of noise, it was fun and exciting. Maseko is now left with two girlfriends, it is not as noisy as it used to be. “It is quiet and tense” said Dabula, Mahlalentabeni agrees with her.

Maseko and his girlfriends asked for blessings from their ancestors before starting the ceremony and slaughtering the goat. Maseko invited his mother, he asked her to help them with the ceremony’s beer (popularly known as Umgqombothi). Although Maseko’s mother agreed to help, she also told Mahlalentabeni to teach herself because she is helping them for the last time.

 

 

 

 

 
Mahlalentabeni said she was paying attention to the ingredients, she at least have an idea of how you start your Umgqombothi. The ceremony was not too packed, there were few people. Mahlalentabeni noticed that there was a girl busy looking at Maseko, she decided to let everyone know. The girl’s name is Kim, she met Maseko in Pretoria.

It turns out that Mahlalentabeni’s suspicions were right, Kim and Maseko have something. From how Kim introduced herself, you could tell it has been a while since she met with Maseko. Mahlalentabeni called Kim out, which led to an altercation. Mahlalentabeni poured something that looked like a big bowl of beatrude on Kim’s head, Kim stood up and ran.

Mahlalentabeni and Dabula ran after her, they did not catch her but they apparently warned her. Dabula and Mahlalentabeni went back to their yard, they found Kim’s bag. Mahlalentabeni opened and emptied the bag, they found condoms. She went back to the street, “we found condoms in your bag, you were ready”. Dabula was running after Kim with an “artificial knife”, she said she was not going to fight because “fighting is no longer my thing”.
