Woman celebrates milestone but comments contradictsWoman celebrates milestone but this comments contradicts
BACKGROUND
She refers to herself as “cakess” on social media, a term that can be predicted to be a nickname. 2022 became a year of achievement for her, she became a step closer to being a marriage and family therapist, this was discovered after she shared an image of herself graduating from Nova Southeastern University (NSU). This is a private research institution under the leadership of Ray F. Ferraro Jr.
Now, Cakess’ mistake was in her caption: Joining 4% of black therapists in the U.S. soon. She reduced this statistical parameter, making everyone factually attack her in the comments section.
People in the comments section contradicted all of this by stating the following: There is about 13.4 therapists in the U.S. who are black, adding “black” in her caption might be indirect racism or a declaration of complete distinction.
OPINION
Equality is not a phenomenon that should be normalised when it comes to social and economical resources only. It should also be present in social institutions, whereby there is a representation for every human being. Therefore, black, white, Asian and all other people deserve to be served by people who know and have directly experienced their hardships and triumphs.
