More trouble for Zahara as she could lose her multi-million rand house

It does not rain but it pours for award winning afro pop artist, Zahara as more troubles follow her.

She seems not to be having a break as it gets from bad to worse. Recently, the star was crying in tears after she lost all six of her South African Music Awards (SAMAs) trophies after her house was broken into and only her awards were stolen.

Now,the Loliwe hitmaker could find herself homeless if the bank does go ahead to reposses her house. City Press reported that Nedbank will be putting Zahara’s townhouse that is in Roodepoort, west of Johannesburg, after she failed to keep up with payments.

Zahara took a loan of R1,9 Million from Nedbank in 2012 and has failed to settle the payment as it is 10 years now since she took it.

In April 2018, the bank flagged Zahara for not keeping up with her loans and issued a notice of motion which was filed at the Johannesburg High Court.

In October 2019, the bank was granted an execution order against Zahara’s house after she stopped paying the amount that she owed for whole six months.

Her monthly payments, according to reports, amounted to R17 665,40.

However, in her defence, Zahara said she struggled to pay due to Covid-19 lockdown but in December last year she made a payment R100 000 which was followed by another R80 000 in February as she paid in advance.

She stated it wouldn’t be fair if she is evicted as she has not got a notice and if it’s because of the past two months.
